August 5, 2000 - Nutter Fort, WV
On Saturday, August 5 in Nutter Fort, WV, Mason-Dixon Wrestling presented it's third annual Blackberry King tournament at the West Virginia Blackberry Festival. The card was a free show, and several hundred fans turned out for the action.
To open the card, Just'n Kace accompanied the returning Tony Nardo (who was declared as being the Tri-State Champion). The duo ran down the crowd before commissioner/announcer Mark Mills ran them off.
In the opening match, MDW's own young bloods of J.T. Martin and Puck met to battle for the vacant lightweight title. While Martin egged on the crowd before the matchup (including one rumored to be a former wrestler), Puck made the rounds to greet the enthusiastic fans. Puck tried to get the early advantage with his high-flying maneuvers and speed, but Martin was able to match his quickness and dominate with punishing moves of his own. The action spilled out of the ring and both combatants used the concrete as a weapon by smashing each other into it several times. Both men used the top rope to their advantage, especially Puck who surprised Martin on several occasions. In the end, Puck's hope for a top rope hurricanrana was crushed when Martin reversed the move for a powerbomb and the pin to take home the gold.
Next up was Scott E. Lime against fan fave Thrillbilly Ox. Lime had to use low blows to stop the nearly 400 lb. Ox and used illegal chokes to try and steal victory. Ox was able to recover and used mighty legdrops and a splash to defeat S. Lime for the pin.
The Tri-State title was decided next, as past champ the Latin Tornado challenged Tony Nardo. Nardo used his experience to keep the high-flying Tornado grounded for most of the match, but L.T. was quick to match Nardo's brawling with kicks and punches of his own. The two went hold for hold throughout the match until Nardo was caught off guard by a injured 'Onslaught' Chick Scott (who Nardo had taken the belt from earlier in the week) when Onslaught nailed him and Just'n Kace with the Tri-State belt, allowing the Tornado to cover Nardo for the pin and his second Tri-State Championship.
The MDW Heavyweight Championship was next up with two superstar heavyweights slugging it out in this one. Switchblade challenged 'The Specialist' Mason Hunter for the gold, and took the champ to the limit with this one. Switchblade put up a hellacious battle with a combination of brawling and punishing holds to try and slow down the champ, scoring several near falls along the way. With the crowd on his side, Hunter turned up the intensity and rallied back to catch Switchblade in a Death Valley Driver for the pin.
A special attraction was up next as a rare ladies match took place. The lovely Alexis Laree took on the equally attractive Candi. While Alexis took a good portion of the match to use hair pulls and throws on Candi, Pee Wee Sherman tried to admonish her for the illegal hold. Candi fumed at her opponents lack of regard for the rules and battled back...at one point landing a bronco buster on Alexis! In the end, Candi slowed down Laree long enough to roll her up for the 1-2-3.
Veterans Death and Destruction ("Ruthless" Roger Anderson and Frank "The Tank" Parker) took on the young team of Dylan Knight and Scotty Mayhem. Parker toyed with Knight for a good portion of the opening match, tripping up the youngster when the two locked up. Knight eventually overcame his mistakes and locked Parker in a painful arm bar while dragging him around the ring. The two eventually made the tag to their respective partners. The might Anderson tried three times to knock the big man Mayhem to the mat with a shoulder block, only to find himself on his back each time. The two battled about until the tags were made. Knight got double teamed by D&D, who eventually got the pin when Mayhem was knocked outside of the ring by Anderson and Parker pinned Knight.
In the main event, a rumble royale took place to crown a new Blackberry King for 2000. Two men began the match, and every thirty seconds another man hit the ring. In the end, Thrillbilly Ox bested the rest of the roster to win the cape and crown for this year.

April 15, 2000 - Morgantown, WV
MDW returned to one it's most popular stomping grounds on Saturday night, March 15 at the National Guard Armory.
To open the show, Lightweight champion Latin Tornado met El Fuego in a non-title battle. Though El Fuego dominated the match, LT pulled off a win by nailing the spinning elbow from the top rope.
Next up, Commissioner Mark Mills introduced MDW Heavyweight champion 'Big Evil' Jamie Harris, 'Onslaught' Chick Scott, and their manager Just'n Kace. Kace ran down Morgantown just as he had done the night before on WCLG radio. Just then, 'The Specialist' Mason Hunter hit the ring with his friends, the lovely Ro, and WCLG's motor mouth Andrew Steele. Hunter stared down Harris and told the crowd that tonight he would bring their feud to an end one way or the other. And to make sure there was no interference, Kace would be handcuffed to Steele at ringside. The MDW executive committee at ringside promptly agreed to the stipulation.
Next up, Mills introduced "Sir" Brute Shooter who bragged about his exploits with Jennifer Anniston (as well as running down all American men). Shooter's opponent was newcomer Jason Creed. Creed dazzled the audience and befuddled Shooter with incredible high-risk moves and high-flying dives. Brute was eventually able to ground Creed, where he dominated for the majority of the match. Creed fought back, but fell victim to Shooter's experience when he got caught trying to hit a hurricanrana that Brute turned into an incredible powerbomb for the pin.
'Luscious' Lance Malinowski was announced next, but he hid near the entrance way to the locker room. As his opponent Chico Guano came out, Lance nailed him eight times in the back and head with a steel chair. Malinowski took control of the Mexican star and tossed him against the walls with full force. Lance eventually dragged Chico to the ring and commenced to pummel him some more with the chair. Eventually, Guano fell unconscious and Lance made the easy pin.
After that matchup, Scott E. Lime came to the ring after a lengthy absence from MDW. The crowd went wild as Lime's opponent, 'Pitbull' Bob Brown made his way to the ring. Lime and Brown locked up, and after a bout of frustration Lime used a cheap shot to slow Pitbull down. Even though he command the match, Scott was unable to pin Brown. The crowd's support soon rallied Pitbull back and he turned the tide in his favor to roll-up S. Lime for the win.
After an intermission, the action resumed. The lovable MDW tag team champions The Thrillbillies took on the equally sized and very deadly combination of Switchblade and DOA. Ox was able to control Switchblade easily, then tagged in Jed. Jed bounced Switchblade around for a while before asking the crowd if they wanted to see Ox take on the giant DOA. After both men tagged in, they decided to see who the best big man was. After neither man could take the other down, DOA amazed everyone in the arena by scooping the 450 lb. Ox off his feat and slamming him with force. Ox made a tag, and he soon found himself down from a slam as well. Switchblade and DOA took turns working over Jed and frustrating Ox, until Jed managed to get free and bring Ox in. All four men brawled in the ring as the Thrillbillies worked together to take Switchblade off his feet and clothesline DOA to the outside of the ring. Ox bounced off the ropes to hit his 450 splash for the pin. Thrillbillies retain the tag team titles.
One of MDW's hottest feuds came to a head as Tri-State champion Punchy McGee met arch-nemesis Just'n Kace and his charge, 'Onslaught' Chick Scott. McGee and Scott went back and forth, as McGee relied on his experience and technical arsenal, while Scott favored speed and rapid punches. Onslaught was able to heave McGee to the outside of the ring, where Kace worked him over. Once Punchy got back in the ring, Scott tried several different finishing maneuvers to beat the champ...all of which failed. A desperate Kace ran into the ring with a chain on his fist as Scott held him for an impending knock-out blow. McGee ducked as Kace stopped about an inch from Scott's face. As the two admired their quick thinking, McGee helped the two put their heads together...literally. Kace fell out of one side of the ring and McGee worked Onslaught over as he dragged him to the other side. Scott rolled out of the ring, but needed to get back in to meet the referee's call. As Punchy attempted to suplex Scott back in, Kace grabbed McGee's feet as Scott fell on top to pin and become the NEW MDW TRI-STATE CHAMPION!
A most peculiar individual named King hit the ring next demanding a hardcore match. His opponent was announced as the 'wrestling nerd' Marvin Snead. King did not take kindly to the goofy Snead and promptly 'trashed' him with anything at his disposal. Once Snead was busted open, he put up a fight with the hardcore master and eventually hit a quick maneuver for the pin.
In the main event, both combatants were introduced. Andrew Steele produced a set of handcuffs for he and Kace which Kace refused to put on. The lovely Ro promptly nailed Kace in the skull with a Singapore cane, and Steele promptly put the cuffs on and dragged the manager to a seat at ringside. In the ring, Hunter and Harris tried their best to dismantle each other by using moves new to each man. Although Hunter took control of the match several times, Harris was able to use his power to turn the tide in his favor. After a lengthy battle, an impatient Kace broke free of Steele and knocked him out with Ro's cane. As he held Ro to distract Mason, Harris hammered 'The Specialist' in the back with a double ax-handle. Referee Pee Wee Sherman found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time as Harris pulled him in front of the charging Hunter. Kace climbed to the ring apron as 'Big Evil' held Hunter for Just'n to nail. At the last minute, Hunter ducked and Kace nailed Harris over the top of the head. As Mason rolled over Harris for the pin, Andrew Steele dove under the bottom rope to count the 1-2-3. Commissioner Mills then asked the groggy referee Sherman if the decision would stand, and Pee Wee agreed that it would...and 'The Specialist' Mason Hunter becomes the NEW MDW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!

March 25, 2000 - Fairmont, WV
In front of a capacity crowd of about 300 people, MDW presented 'Brawl At The Mall' to help raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
To open the card, a fired up Thrillbilly Ox squashed Chico Guano (literally) with a massive body splash. Guano never had a chance.
Next up, high-flying Bounty Hunter met one of his toughest foes in X-Treme Joey Austin. The two traded stiff punches and kicks in the ring, until Austin eventually threw Bounty Hunter out. Bounty made good use of a steel chair and waffled Austin to the ground. While he was celebrating, Joey recovered and gave the former lightweight champ a taste of his own medicine, bringing the seat to Bounty's skull. Bounty took charge again, but in the end Austin capitalized on overconfident moment to roll-up Bounty Hunter for the win.
The reigning MDW Lightweight champion, The Latin Tornado, met his arch-foe Kid Stuff for LT's belt. Another high-flying affair that saw both men try to maim each other, as Kid Stuff worked stiff kicks and throws into his offense. LT countered with a press slam and a horrific brain buster that crumpled the contender like an accordion. Tornado eventually hit a top rope maneuver that spelled the end for Kid Stuff. Post match, Kid Stuff walloped the champ over the head with a steel chair and took off with his belt. At that point, LT challenged Kid Stuff to a ladder match for the title at the upcoming card in Kingwood.
One of the fastest-paced matches of the night was on tap next, as 'Pitbull' Bob Brown and 'Onslaught' Chick Scott locked up. This was an incredible match that saw both me try to tear each other limb from limb. Despite interference from Scott's manager Just'n Kace, Pitbull was able to mount several comebacks and take Scott to the mat. The action was simply to fast to jot down. In the end, Pitbull hit got the 1-2-3 for the win. Just'n Kace confronted Onslaught about once again losing a big match, at which point Onslaught threatened to smash the manager's face in. The Assassins jumped Onslaught from behind, and the three stomped and kicked away at Chick's back and head. Pitbull jumped back into the ring and cleaned house. Pitbull offered a handshake in friendship, much to the delight of the fans. Chick initially refused, then clocked Brown with a vicious clothesline, screaming that he didn't need anybody's help.
After an intermission, the reigning Tri-State champion Punchy McGee made his way to the ring. Just'n Kace returned to the ring to announce that Punchy's opponent for the night didn't make it, and that all of his other men were booked for matches. Commissioner Mark Mills, at the insistence of Punchy, decided that Kace himself would wrestle. Just'n protested then started to return to the dressing room, only to be thrown unceremoniously into the ring by referee Pee Wee Sherman. Kace tried to slow McGee down with kicks and punches, but McGee quickly took control and devastated the 'weasel' in a few minutes with moves including a piledriver and a moonsault.
The co-main event featured WKKW DJ Chris Wayne battling the bigmouthed Luscious Lance Malinowski. Malinowski demanded beforehand that the match be no DQ, which was granted. Wayne claimed that he was doing this for the kids, and that Malinowski was about to be schooled. Lance quickly showed the popular personality what a ring veteran can do, stretching Wayne with a variety of painful holds and chopping him mercilessly. The action spilled out of the ring, where Malinowski threw 'Wayner' into a row of chairs. Malinowski threw Wayne back into the ring and tried several time to pin him...although Chris fought back each time. Frustrated, Lance bombarded Wayne with a series of painful punches, throws, and kicks, finally giving up and grabbing a slice of pizza from the concession stand to snack on. Wayner grabbed the mic and told Lance and the crowd that the children of St. Jude's didn't quit and neither would he. Malinowski returned to the ring with a chair, but Wayner hit him with a superkick dubbed 'The Cure' for the 1-2-3.
In the final main event, 'Big Evil' Jamie Harris defended the MDW heavyweight title against 'The Specialist' Mason Hunter. Both men had been studying each others moves and were able to counter each others offense. At one point, Hunter opened a new bag of tricks by slamming Harris' head into a chair, then drop-kicking the back of it into his face. During the melee, referee Pee Wee Sherman was knocked out when Harris threw Hunter into him. Another referee emerged from the dressing room in time to make the 1-2-3 as Hunter pinned Harris. Hunter was handed the championship and celebrated in the ring. However, senior referee Sherman immediately overruled that decision and stated that Harris was disqualified for throwing Hunter at him. The Big Evil retains the belt via DQ.

February 18, 2000 - Buckhannon, WV
The card began with MDW commissioner Mark Mills greeting the crowd and announcing the evening's events. 'Onslaught' Chick Scott and his manager Just'n Kace immediately hit the ring. Onslaught ordered Mills to only refer to him as Onslaught from now on. Kace took the microphone and told Mills and the crowd that there was no way he'd participate in the evening's special over-the-top rumble. Commissioner Mills then asked the fans their opinion, which meant the Kace was going to be in the match regardless.
The opening match featured the masked El Fuego taking on the very popular Thrillbilliy Ox. This was a mismatch from the start, as the 400 lb Ox easily whipped El Fuego around the ring like a doll. Ox eventually landed a massive body splash for the 1-2-3. As Ox celebrated, the newcomer Lumberjack jumped him from behind. Lumberjack and El Fuego continued to assault Ox until his recently returned cousin Jed came in and threw to two out of the ring. El Fuego and Lumberjack then challenged Ox and Jed for the MDW tag team titles at their next meeting, which the mountain legends quickly agreed to.
Next up saw a high-flying, lightning-fast matchup between MDW lightweight champion Latin Tornado and Kid Stuff. Kid came to the ring first with Tornado's belt (which he stole from a previous encounter), and ran down the crowd. He then called out LT, who came in as a house of fire. The two held no punches back, and used their arsenals to their fullest extent. Both executed high-impact, daredevil aerial maneuvers and then quickly switched gears to use kicks and chops on each other. The end came when Kid Stuff became frustrated and left the ring for a count out win for Latin Tornado.
The third match of the night saw two more members of the lightweight division show their stuff. Unlike Kid Stuff and Latin Tornado, X-Treme Joey Austin and Bounty Hunter are both brawlers...and on this night that fact was more evident than ever. Bounty took the early advantage by using some stiff whips into the corner on Austin. He managed to throw Austin out of the ring, then dragged him to the medical truck and threw him inside. Bounty celebrated his "smart" maneuver, only to get clocked from behind by Austin. Joey threw his opponent back into the ring and worked him over with some kicks and high-energy throws. Bounty soon found himself ringside on the floor...and turned too late to see Austin coming airborne with a chair in hand! After recovering, Bounty grabbed the steel chair and battered Austin's back with it. The two made their way into the ring again, and Bounty Hunter used the ropes to get the pin.
After a brief intermission, Commissioner Mills began to address the crowd on a recent achievement for MDW, when Pitbull Bob Brown interrupted. Pitbull questioned Mills as to why he hadn't received his title shot against 'Big Evil' Jamie Harris. Mills stated that he would get a series of shots, but because of the limited availability of Mason Hunter, he would get a shot tonight.
Commissioner Mills then concluded his speech by informing the crowd that Mason-Dixon Wrestling's rankings are listed in the latest edition of Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine.
The MDW Heavyweight Championship was on the line as the champ, 'Big Evil' Jamie Harris came to the ring with manager Just'n Kace in tow. 'The Specialist' Mason Hunter came out to a huge reaction from the crowd. The two went to work quickly and each man took turns throughout the matchup sending each other sailing. Harris took control and dominated Hunter with suplexes, slams, and elbows as well as some other crushing moves. After a misstep by Harris, Mason swung the momentum back into his favor. He took to the champ with kicks, chops, and slams of his own. Harris soon powered Mason out of the ring, where Just'n Kace used a chain to choke out the fan favorite. Feeling that a victory was at hand, Harris landed a massive Samoan drop on Mason and went for the pin. Referee Pee Wee Sherman made a two and seven-eighths count when Hunter lifted a shoulder somehow. Harris confronted Sherman about his count, while Pitbull Bob Brown snuck into the ring with a steel chair. He clocked Mason with full force, knocking 'The Specialist' out cold. Harris made the easy pin at that point to retain his belt.
The next match was for the MDW Tri-State title. Onslaught and Kace returned to the ring. Champion Punchy McGee was then introduced to an enthusiastic response. Punchy said that he had one word for Buckhannon and that it had two syllables: weasel...a chant that drove Just'n Kace absolutely nuts for the rest of the evening. Punchy and Onslaught locked up in a classic collar-and-elbow, which Punchy quickly turned to his advantage, trying to work over Onslaught's arms and legs with maneuvers out of the great bibles of technical wrestling. Onslaught soon used some of his fire to turn the tide and began devastating McGee with suplexes, powerbombs, and more big brawling maneuvers than anyone knew he could muster. On one occasion, McGee was thrown out of the ring where Kace quickly gave him some cheap shots, eyepokes, chokes, and kicks. McGee was thrown back into the ring, where Onslaught worked to pick him apart. Kace got up on the apron to help Onslaught finish off the champ, but Punchy reversed a whip into the ropes to send both men colliding. Punchy then rolled up Onslaught to retain his belt.
The final event of the evening was a 'Royal Rumble' style battle royal. Everyone who'd appeared on the card entered the match at some point, as did a couple of unseen faces such as Assassins 1 and 2, two of the Guanos, and Luscious Lance Malinowski. The last man to enter was Just'n Kace...suit and all. Bodies went flying from all sides of the ring, until it came down to Latin Tornado and Just'n Kace. Kace quickly threw powder into LT's eyes for the easy toss and win. However, Commissioner Mills informed Kace that because he won, he must wrestle an opponent at the next MDW card in Buckhannon on April 14.

January 15, 2000 - Morgantown, WV
As the late Gorilla Monsoon would've said, they were literally hanging from the rafters in the armory on Saturday night. A standing-room only, sell-out crowd was treated to some high impact action.
To start the show off, the lovable Thrillbilly Ox took on the giant Masked Assassin. Fuming after what the Assassin did to his cousin Jed, Ox let his temper get the best of him early. Assassin took control of the situation and planted Ox with a "Vader bomb", as well as several leg drops and elbows. The two caught each other with a double clothesline late in the match. Ox slammed the Assassin and followed up with a running body splash for the pin.
Bounty Hunter was accompanied to the ring next with his manager, Miss Amber. Bounty Hunter ran down the college students in attendance, the other fans at ringside, and just bout anyone he could think of. The MDW lightweight champion Latin Tornado hit the ring, ready to defend his title against his longtime nemesis. Bounty Hunter made an offer to the Tornado: he could have Miss Amber in exchange for the lightweight title. LT immediately laughed off both Bounty Hunter and Miss Amber. Unexpectedly, Kid Stuff came down to the ring and unleashed a verbal tirade aimed at the MDW championship committee and demanded the match be made a three-way dance....which Commissioner Mark Mills quickly obliged. In one of the most spectacular, high-flying events in recent memory, the three combatants threw everything in their arsenal at each other. Latin Tornado would not be defeated this night, and hit his opponents on the floor with a top turnbuckle body splash. He dragged Kid Stuff into the ring and nailed him with a sit-out piledriver that nearly snapped the former referee in two. In the end, LT caught Bounty Hunter with a twisting elbow smash off the top turnbuckle for the 1,2,3. Post match, Kid Stuff beat down LT and took his belt, telling him to meet him in Kingwood if he wanted it back.
Luscious Lance Malinowski arrived in the ring, dressed in a crown and royal robe. He declared himself the new king of wrestling in MDW, and to demonstrate his prowess bought out his special guest opponent....Baldicon Guano. The match was a joke from start to finish, and mercifully ended with Lance getting the pin. Mark Mills admonished Malinowski for the pitiful performance and warned him to not lower his standards again.
The next match was a high-impact affair as the 'Dark Onslaught' Chick Scott faced off with 'Pitbull' Bob Brown. Scott has vastly improved since his rookie days, and took the veteran Pitbull to town. When Brown started to turn things around, manager Just'n Kace evened the playing field for the Onslaught by kicking and choking the Pitbull when referee Pee Wee Sherman was occupied. Scott eventually caught Pitbull on the outside with a DDT on a steel chair, which pretty much slowed down the fan favorite for the rest of the match. Onslaught got the 1,2,3 soon after. Apparently, victory was not enough as Kyle Storm emerged from the back for a post-match beat down on Brown. Not long after, Punchy McGee and Diamond Dave Donovan hit the ring to save Brown from being hung from the ropes.
Next up, Seth James came to the ring to berate the WVU fans and Mason-Dixon Wrestling as a whole. Not long after, a familiar guitar riff hit the loudspeakers and "The Specialist" Mason Hunter emerged from the locker room, accompanied by a striking young lady by the name of "Rowe". Hunter put James back in his place, then bought out the special guest referee for their match that night, WCLG's Andrew Steele. Last time in Morgantown, James bitch-slapped Steele during an in-ring confrontation. This would be a different night for all men involved.
The next match saw Diamond Dave Donovan and Kyle Storm go one on one. A back and forth brawler's delight. Storm managed to manhandle Donovan early on, but got caught napping long enough for DDD to set him up for -and execute- a top-rope body press.
Just'n Kace continued his pursuit of ending Punchy McGee's career, bringing the might Executioner 2000 to the ring. Punchy McGee came to the ring with his Tri-State championship in tow. McGee quickly got the crowd to positively respond that they smelled a "weasel" in Just'n Kace. Executioner had obviously been training and watching tape of Punchy, because he countered one of the best technicians in the game hold for hold, move for move. Too bad for Executioner that Punchy always thinks several moves ahead. Even Kace's interference wasn't enough to stop Punchy, as the man hit a spectacular moonsault for the pin.
The final match of the night that will be an easy Match of the Year contender come December. Seth James came to the ring first, then Mason Hunter. Andrew Steele was having a difficult time keeping track of Seth James actions, and he "unfortunately" missed a couple of the 'Big Stiff's' pin attempts. A very frustrated James announced that there was no way he was getting a fair match and he was leaving. Commissioner Mills reminded Seth that if he left, he would be fired from MDW and forbidden from ever returning. James then demanded the match be made hardcore rules---a demand that was quickly met. A trash can filled with everything from a car vacuum, to a Nintendo game console, to a kendo stick. The match went all over the ringside area, with suplexes, power bombs, and more being exchanged. Seth made good use of the weaponry at his disposal to turn the tide. Hunter fought back and blasted the Big Stiff with a chairshot that opened the Pittsburgh native on his forehead. The two somehow managed to get back into the ring, and Mason capped the night off by giving Seth a death valley driver directly onto the trash can. 1-2-3, and Mason Hunter wins this battle, much to the delight of the capacity crowd.
