December 7, 2001 - Stonewood, WV
Before the night got underway, NWA West Virginia/Ohio owner Richard Arpin introduced himself to the crowd and announced that he and Mason-Dixon Wrestling owner Jim Hawkins had decided to put aside past differences and merge their two promotions into one under the NWA banner. Beginning in 2002, the two will co-promote cards all over West Virginia, Ohio, and now parts of Kentucky, as Arpin has been awarded parts of the Kentucky territory following Ohio Valley Wrestling's departure from the NWA.
Daron Smythe (NWA WV/OH TV champion) pinned Nikita Alanov (non-title match).
Nikita went on the offensive early with a barrage of punishing holds, but Smythe fought back with speed and aerial tactics. A missed high-spot cost Smythe the advantage, but a similar miscue from the top rope wound up doing in the "Soviet Terror", thus allowing Smythe to hit a top-rope splash for the pin.
Orion pinned Prophet. The two newcomers to either promotion put on a great display of blistering speed and punishing power, but in the end Orion snatched victory from the jaws of defeat via a top-rope splash of his own.
Manager Just'n Kace brought MDW tag team champions Boomer Payne and Punchy McGee to the ring for an interview. Kace demanded that his charges be awarded a forfeit victory over the Thrillbillies since Jed was unable to make the show. An official informed Kace that the two were still obligated to defend the belts. At that point, Ox charged the ring and leveled Kace, Payne, and McGee. He knocked the champs out of the ring with a double clothesline, then splashed and pinned Kace. Referee Pee Wee Sherman counted 1-2-3 and Ox celebrated with both belts in hand.
NWA WV/OH champion Rocky Reynolds defeated Magnum and Star in a non-title 3-way dance when he pinned Star. This match was the epitome of "anything goes". Star showed off some impressive high-flying maneuvers and even had the champion caught in a couple of painful holds: one resembling a standing Boston Crab and an inverted tarantula. Magnum showed why he is one of the best all-around stars in the game as he used technical prowess, airborne assaults, and stiff power to get the upper hand on his opponents. Rocky, however, found himself on the end of more than one double-team throughout the match. He was able to go toe-to-toe with Magnum, and caught the lighter Star in several power maneuvers that slowed him down considerable. Reynolds hit a swanton bomb to finish off Star for the pin. Afterwards, Magnum hit a running one-handed chokeslam on the champ.
Brock Singleton w/ Sasha pinned Chick Scott. Scott was able to frustrate Singleton with great defense, but Brock would not be put down despite the best efforts of the "Onslaught". Brock caught Scott with a school-boy rollup.
The Southern Brawler, self-proclaimed MDW hardcore champion (MDW does not recognize a hardcore champion), came to the ring for an interview. He bragged about how he defeated four other wrestlers in a hardcore battle royal on July 17th, and challenged anyone from any promotion in the world to meet him in the spring for a "title match". Richard Arpin came to the ring and told Brawler he was tired of his B.S. and would accept his challenge. He signed Brawler's contract, then laid him out as an exclamation point to the night.
Cory K. w/ Just'n Kace pinned Jimmy Vegas. This was a rematch from this year's MDW Blackberry Festival card. Cory K. dominated early, but Vegas surprised the giant enough to hit a big fireman's carry slam for what would've been a 1-2-3; however, referee Sherman had been squashed in the corner by Cory. Just'n jumped up on the apron, distracting Vegas enough to cause him to charge Kace. The wily manager threw a powdery substance in Vegas' eyes, allowing Cory K. to roll him up for a pin once Sherman recovered.
Gary Steele pinned MDW Tri-State champion Mason Hunter (non-title match).
The former NWA World Heavyweight champion and the reigning MDW champion put on a brilliant display of technical wrestling that simply awed the capacity crowd. Both men exchanged the upper hand throughout the match up, but the former world champion proved to be just a step ahead of Hunter as he rolled him up for the 1-2-3.
Nova & Matt Vandal def. Chris Hamrick and Protégé when Vandal pinned Protégé
The former ECW stars represented their former promotion well in what can only be described as a blisteringly fast-paced match. Hamrick and Protégé worked over Vandal heavily, until Nova made the hot tag. Nova went to work on both opponents, but the whole match came to a sudden halt when Hamrick, Nova, and Vandal wound up super kicking each other into a knockout. Protégé tried to capitalize by pinning Vandal, but the youngster kicked out. All men recovered and the action spilled out of the ring. Nova hit a tope' on Hamrick, and a bloody-nosed Vandal was able to surprise Protégé for the pin. Protégé and Hamrick jumped the victors, and the entire locker room emptied to fill the ring with over thirty stars. A battle royal was declared, and several minutes later the mighty Thrillbilly Ox was declared the winner.

August 4, 2001 - Nutter Fort, WV
For the fourth year in a row, Mason-Dixon Wrestling presented a free card at the annual West Virginia Blackberry Festival. A massive, standing room only crowd enjoyed on of the best cards MDW has presented in recent memory.
In the opening match, Daron Smythe pinned Russia's own Nikita Alanov. Alanov took the time to remind the crowd that he would leave if any "USA" chants broke out. Needless to say, the match almost never started because of this. The chants only served to infuriate the Russian as he went toe to toe with Smythe. In the end however, Smythe upset Alanov to score the pin.
Next up, Tony Nardo came to the ring with a box of dog biscuits which he threw at referee Pee Wee Sherman, commissioner Mark Mills, several fans, the photographers at ringside and eventually at Pitbull Bob Brown himself. Brown nabbed the box and crammed the dog snacks into Nardo's mouth. Nardo nearly was declared the winner after rolling up Brown, but referee Sherman ordered the match restarted when fans at ringside advise him that Nardo was holding the trunks. Nardo was declared the winner a second time, but again the match was restarted when it was learned he had used the ropes for leverage. Nardo then won via DQ when he planted a chain in the hand of Brown and played possum. Again, Pee Wee ordered the match restarted at the advisement of the fans. As Tony argued with the referee, Brown snuck up behind him and rolled him up for the quick 1-2-3.
Two of the newer faces to MDW were next as manager Just'n Kace bought out the monstrous Cory K. His opponent was immediately popular with the fans...Jimmy Vegas. Cory and Kace took time to go from ring post to ring post to try and get some fan approval; they weren't very lucky. However, Vegas received deafening cheers from the fans when he did so. Infuriated, Cory went on the early offensive and caught Vegas off guard with some impressive power moves and fast brawling. To the delight of the crowd, Vegas gained the advantage when K mistimed a maneuver and went on his own offensive. However, Cory K found a way to steal the victory and pinned Vegas.
In an elimination match for the vacant MDW heavyweight title, Onslaught Chick Scott stunned former champion Mason Hunter when he reversed Hunter's patented DVD driver for the pin following a match full of heavy brawling and stunning high impact maneuvers.
The Thrillbillies (Ox and Jed) defeated Punchy McGee and Boomer Payne with manager Just'n Kace. The mountain legends got the upper hand early when they pulled down McGee and Payne's wrestling trunks to reveal flowery bikini bottom underwear. The embarrassed champs turned the match around, though, by working over Jed and eventually Punchy trapped him in a painful figure four leg lock. Jed clawed his way back...literally...by nearly crushing McGee's head in the palm of his hand. After making the tag to Ox, the two cleared house and Boomer Payne wound up getting the worst of it when Ox delivered the 400 lb. splash and Jed followed up with a leg drop and the pin to win the Mason-Dixon Wrestling tag team titles.
The semi-main event saw former ECW star Nova get the pin over fellow ECW alumni Chris Hamrick. Before the match, Hamrick's managers Ice Pick and Donnie B. ran down the crowd, the festival, and the entire state of West Virginia to tremendous crowd heat. Nova hit the ring and took charge of a cocky Hamrick and simply dominated him early on. Ice Pick caused plenty of distraction, and Donnie B. even managed to smack Nova in the head by throwing a chair at his head. Hamrick turned the tables, but only briefly. Nova rebounded and dodged other attempts at interference by Ice Pick and Donnie B. and finished off Hamrick first with a senton bomb, then with the famous Kryptonite Krunch.
The main event was the annual Blackberry Rumble Royale. The match started off with current MDW light heavyweight champion Puck, and the man forced to forfeit the title a year ago due to a severe spinal injury, J.T. Martin. Tri-State champ Luscious Lance Malinowski rode his Harley Davidson to ringside and joined the fray. Every thirty seconds thereafter another MDW star hit the ring. In the end, it came down to the teams of Payne and McGee and the Thrillbillies. The four split into different one on one battles, but Punchy threw a powdery substance into Ox's eyes. Payne and McGee threw Jed into the corner where Ox was trying to clear his eyes, and the blinded Ox threw his cousin over the ropes. With his eyes clearing, Ox found himself up against the ropes with McGee and Payne charging at him for a double clothesline. Ox held the rope and dropped down to a sitting position, sending McGee and Payne flying over the ring ropes and securing his spot as the first repeat winner of the Rumble Royale, and declared once again as the 2001 MDW Blackberry King. Jed helped his cousin put on his cape and crown, and the duo celebrated with fans at ringside.
